Focus on Urban Biodiversity and Climate Adaptation

As more cities around the globe seek to build climate resilience, urban green spaces and ecosystems are playing an increasingly critical role in their adaptation strategies. A significant part of the discussions will center on how cities can adapt to the climate crisis while promoting urban biodiversity. The Climate Week is the perfect platform for Natural Solutions to speak on innovative solutions for urban resilience, such as our urban forestry management software Ecoteka. They play a pivotal role in enhancing urban biodiversity and helping cities adapt to the challenges of climate change.

Laëtitia Bucari Manu’s Keynote on Cities Adaptation to Climate Change

Laëtitia Bucari Manu, Chief Product Officer for Ecosystems Regeneration, will deliver a compelling talk, on Wednesday 23 October, on strengthening urban resilience through biodiversity regeneration, focusing on how cities can adapt to the growing impacts of climate change by restoring ecosystems. Her presentation will delve into cutting-edge technologies such as satellite imagery, artificial intelligence, and LiDAR for urban tree monitoring and optimizing green spaces management, highlighting how these tools can help cities manage green spaces more efficiently and increase their capacity to withstand climate-related events. During her talk, Laëtitia will share key findings on the significant role of urban trees in mitigating climate impacts.
Her speech will also emphasize the role of collaborations between organisations such as the Alliance for Urban Renaturation (REV) and how open data and collective intelligence can foster city-wide and global cooperation in urban adaptation strategies.

Laëtitia’s talk is a must-attend for anyone interested in the intersection of technology, nature-based solutions, and urban planning!

Engaging with Key Stakeholders

Climate Week 2024 promises to bring together a wide array of participants, including environmental scientists, urban planners, and representatives from government organizations and NGOs.
The target participants are scientists, such as climatologists, ecologist, biologists, agronomists, and even anthropologists and architects. Discussions will emphasize sustainable resource management, cross-sector collaboration, and solutions for achieving net-zero emissions, making this event a key moment for advancing climate action.
Conferences will address different topics like the evidences of climate change, AI & machine learning in fighting climate change, and sustainability and climate change.

We look forward to contributing our expertise and solutions to this vibrant dialogue on urban adaptation and sustainability. Join us in Barcelona as we work together toward a greener, more resilient future!
